In-person architectural consultation
You love the house. But making it work for you could mean spending a substantial part of your savings.
Perhaps an extension feels like the answer. You call a builder, who asks for drawings. Suddenly you’re looking for someone to draw it, before anyone has asked whether extending is the best use of your money.
That is where we start. Abode specialises in older buildings across Scotland, with decades of combined experience adapting character homes, listed buildings and properties in conservation areas. We look at how the building works, what you need and what could stand in the way.
Walking through the rooms together lets us explore whether you need more space, a better layout, or both. You leave with a clearer direction for your budget and the questions to resolve before commissioning design work.

Before you book
What should I prepare?
Have any existing plans or information about previous work ready. Think about your main questions, priorities and broad budget. You don’t need a finished brief. Let us know about access or parking arrangements.
Is my home within your travel area?
We include up to 45 minutes’ travel each way from our Glasgow city-centre office. Beyond this, additional travel is £75 per hour including VAT, in 15-minute increments (£18.75). We combine the excess time across both journeys and round up once. Traffic delays do not increase the fee. Contact us before booking to agree any additional charge.
Is this the right first step?
Choose this visit if you want dedicated advice on the house and possible changes. If you’re unsure what help you need, a free discovery call lets us understand your situation and recommend a next step.
